This DOG-FRIENDLY, private 1-bedroom, plus loft bedroom, cabin is located less than 5 minutes off HWY 321 in Townsend, TN, also known as “The Peaceful Side of the Smokies.” Only 5 minutes (2.5 miles) from Tuckaleechee Caverns and 7 minutes (4 miles) from Great Smoky Mountain National Park and close to Cades Cove. Perfect for two couples or a family, and bring along your furry family members!

The space

Newly decorated, this one-bedroom cabin with a loft (full bed) is the perfect place for two couples or a family to get away and relax. The kitchen is fully stocked with a drip coffee maker (BYO-Coffee) and a Keurig (BYO-K-cups) and all the dishes and cookware you may need.

All TVs are connected to wifi with access to all of your favorite streaming apps via Roku (you must log into your own accounts)! The bedroom & loft both contain a 43” UHD Roku-equipped TV. The 55” living room TV is also Roku-equipped.

There is an electric fireplace for use in the cooler season (Oct. - Mar.), in the living room.

We are dog-friendly, with restrictions, so please message us with details if you intend to bring your furry friend(s)!

Mountain Mist Cabins offers a shared Laundry Area & community fire pit down the first driveway on your left!

You’ll have the whole cabin to yourself!
Driveway is gravel, but flat and well-packed.
Motorcycle friendly but bring something to place under your Kickstand.
Electronic Lock on door, so no keys to misplace or lose.

Additional notes

Dog Policy - If you are bringing your furry friend, you must submit a message through the app and let us know what the age and breed the dog is. We do not allow puppies less than 1 year old and certain breeds that are known to be destructive. All dogs must be house trained. You will be responsible for any damage caused by your dog. Please use the designated outdoor area for you pets to do their business and clean up after them. In some cases we do provide waste stations to clean up after them. Unless otherwise specified in the listing there will be a $100/stay pet fee applied to your reservation.

Because we are dog-friendly, if you have any allergies pertaining to dogs, I recommend you do not stay at Dancin’ in the Moonlight. While we do our best to thoroughly clean, we cannot guarantee that you may not have an allergic reaction from a previous guest’s dog(s).

Please note the level of privacy at the cabin is dependent on the season. During the winter months when the trees are bare you can see neighboring cabins, but they are not on top of you at all. During the Spring, Summer and Fall the trees keep the cabin mostly private from neighbors.

Do not feed or interact with any wildlife, especially bears.
Make sure all trash outside is placed in the bear proof trash bins.
Never leave trash bags or food outside.

Towels and linens are provided, as well as soaps, shampoos, and even toothbrushes, are available if you forgot yours!

All persons booking MUST be 23 years of age. Please message us for exceptions.
Be sure to purchase travel insurance!

Should you bring more guests than reflected by your reservation you may be asked to leave the property without a refund and/or pay an additional $25 per night per person.

Quiet Hours are from 10PM to 9AM

Do not leave any trash or food outside, it will attract bears.
You are in nature and there are bears and other wildlife in the area. If Bears get too accustomed to people, they are put down. If you feed the bears, you can kill the bears, please don't kill the bears.

The hot tub is for guests 21 and over. Alcohol is NOT allowed near the tob tub. You may not use the hot tub if you have consumed any alcohol or are pregnant. USE HOT TUB AT YOUR OWN RISK!

As with most cabins in the area, all fireplaces are shut down April 1 - September 30.

We do not offer early check-in or late check-out. However, IF we are able to accommodate, there may be an additional charge.

Condiments, zip locks, and coffee are NOT provided.

Absolutely NO unauthorized fires! Unauthorized fires (including candles) will be charged $250 plus damages.

As always, be safe and use caution. You WILL be accountable for any damages.

You will have privacy with this cabin. We will be available through the app anytime before and during your stay. We will respond as quickly as possible.
If there is an emergency, please call 911. If it is non-emergent, we will get it resolved as quickly as possible.

Neighborhood overview

Located on the Peaceful Side of the Smokies, Townsend is just 20 minutes (8 miles) to Pigeon Forge and 40 minutes (18 miles) to Gatlinburg. Less than 2 miles from HWY 321.
Mountain Mist Cabins contain 5 individual and private cabins. The main driveway is shared, while each cabin has a private driveway for you!
DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT is the cabin on the straight ahead of the main driveway once you have turned in by the “Mountain Mist Cabins” sign at the main road.

Getting around

Mountain Mist Cabins is less than a mile to HWY 321 and just minutes away from many attractions. Only 1.6 miles to Davy Crockett Riding Stables, 2.5 miles to Tuckaleechee Caverns, and 4 miles to the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park & the Cades Cove Loop.
Pulling in, DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT will be the cabin straight ahead from the main driveway. While the main driveway from the main road is shared, each cabin has its own private driveway and yard.
